Visible Darning revolutionises the traditional approach, utilizing color and pattern to mend knitted textiles visibly. Embrace this stylised method, where no invisible repairs are made. No prior experience in traditional darning is necessary—just bring an open mind and unleash your creativity.

• Rips/Tears and Reinforcing: Learn diverse repair techniques, from split seams to patchwork reinforcement, using traditional and contemporary methods like the fishbone stitch and arrowhead tack.
• Mending Small Holes: Master techniques for repairing small flaws in woven or knitted fabrics. Gain proficiency in stitches like the blanket and tailor’s buttonhole stitch, exploring creative approaches to integration into larger designs.

Led by tutor Becky Davies-Downes, a seasoned fashion designer and costumer in the television industry, renowned for her contemporary interpretation of skills from the Make Do and Mend Movement.
