Knitting for Beginners Workshop – Saturday 15 June 2024 (10-1pm) York

Knitting for Beginners finds Judith Schur ready to share with you the absolute pleasure she gets from knitting. Learn to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, rib stitch (a combination of the 2) and cast off and to read a pattern, then you’re all set to go. After class you will be given an exclusive Judith Schur designed pattern so that you can practice your skills while making something gorgeous. This class is also suitable for those who feel a bit rusty and lacking confidence.

Tutor Judith Schur has loved knitting since she was a child and previously had her own yarn shop. She has a City and Guilds trained in Hand Knitting and Design and is passionate about sharing the knowledge and skills needed to get everyone knitting.

This beginner’s class is to give you a taste of what you can achieve with basic stitches. With a bit of practice, you will soon be ready for her follow-up classes that take you class by class on more elaborate knitting adventures, from Cable Stitch and Brioche to Sock Knitting and more.

Everything you need is included in this workshop, all you need is a sense of adventure!

Level: For absolute beginners or people in need of a refresher of the basics.

Each participant receives a 10% off voucher to spend online or put towards another workshop.

Access notice: there are two flights of stairs to the workroom in our medieval building at 32 Coppergate, York YO1 9NR. We sincerely apologise if this prevents anyone from attending.
