Traditional Mohair Bear – 2-Part Workshop for Beginners & Returners – Weds 13 & 20 March 2024 (10-4pm) York

Our exclusive mohair bears are designed by tutor Jacqueline Schultz of Jacqueline’s Bears. You make them using authentic, Steiff Schulte mohair in two hands-on workshop workshop sessions. Each bear has a unique personality, moveable cotter joints and British made glass eyes. Beginner’s use our Milo kit, creating a bear that is 23cm high when standing, 17cm when sitting. Returners make Roxy, who is the same size but with a different coat that is more complicated to work with. And those returning for a third time get to choose from a selection of patterns and fabrics to make an entirely unique bear for their collection. During these two full day classes, as well as learning teddy-making skills, Jacqueline will tell you the fascinating heritage of mohair bears.

This booking includes two sessions and a complete bear kit of your choice, including all the materials you need. A Milo kit normally retails at £59.99 and Roxy at £64.99.

Beginner’s don’t need any previous bear-making experience but we do recommend you have basic sewing skills.

Classes are individually priced & include the tools to use in class and all materials, unless otherwise indicated.

Each participant also receives a 10% off voucher to spend in the shop.

Access notice: there are two flights of stairs to the workroom in our medieval building at 32 Coppergate, York YO1 9NR. We sincerely apologise if this prevents anyone attending.
